    Biomimetics Introduction

    Dr. Filipe Natálio lectures about "The Art and Science of Biomimetics" at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle.

    Art/Science Workshop Pilot

    Dr. Filipe Natálio and Prof. Aart van Bezooijen organize a student workshop titled "Exploring Future Materials" during the "Herbstsession" workshop week.

    We invite cross-disciplinary artist and researcher Pinar Yoldas to lecture about her work featuring the latest project "An Ecosystem of Excess" which envisions a future with post-human life forms.

    Cotton⁻⁹ Awarded

    Dr. Natálio's research and future applications of Nanocotton (cotton enriched with nanoparticles) are demonstrated in an Imagefilm and is awarded with the 2nd prize at the Nanospots Short Film Festival.

Dr. Filipe Natálio is a chemist with a passion for biomimetics currently working at the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel). Prof. Aart van Bezooijen is responsible for the Burg Material Collection, a physical library of materials and technologies at the Burg University of Art and Design Halle (Germany). This Portuguese–Dutch collaboration inspires and enables young students to explore and understand alternative materials and methods that contribute to a more sustainable future.
